Newtonmill is conveniently located just off the A90, making it easy to reach by car. Please contact us for exact navigation instructions or if you need recommendations for taxis.

Transport Hubs:

  • Montrose Railway Station: 10 miles – sleeper service from London stops here; direct trains to Dundee, Edinburgh, Aberdeen, Glasgow, and London.

  • Dundee Airport: 33 miles – connecting Ember bus service available to Brechin (3 miles from Newtonmill).

  • Aberdeen International Airport: 41 miles – connecting Ember bus service available to Brechin (3 miles from Newtonmill).

  • Edinburgh: 81 miles – accessible by rail from Montrose Station or Ember bus from Brechin.

Day Trips From Newtonmill

Newtonmill offers the perfect base for exploring the best of Scotland. We recommend using your own transport in order to maximise your flexibility (car hire available from Edinburgh and Aberdeen airports). However, Brechin (3 miles) and Montrose (10 miles) offer great transport links via rail and Ember bus service.
